My Initial thought
The app engagement is low because users struggle with navigating the interface, finding it overly complex and confusing. This frustration discourages them from using the app regularly.
I started with understanding the product vision to identify user & business problems and potential opportunities.
Understand the vision
Market research
As I navigate through a crowded market filled with fitness, health, meditation, and yoga apps, it's crucial to explore competitors and target markets to find out what sets HabitHero apart.
Research focus

MVP analysis

Key insights
My initial observation is that:
-
As a fitness app, HabitHero doesn't seem to focus as much on fitness metrics as some of its competitors.
-
While there are plenty of health measurement apps available, there's a gap in the market for an app that consolidates various daily health metrics.
What I did next --- Stakeholder interview
I needed to validate that the company's vision is aligned with my findings. Therefore, I conducted stakeholder interviews to present my discoveries and confirm the product goals. During these interviews, I discovered that the company's objectives are:

Conclusion
After validation, focusing on "fitness" to achieve health management is indeed not aligned with our vision and mission.

Understand the user unmet needs
User research
After market research, MVP analysis and stakeholder interviews, I want to start collecting first-hand information from my target audience to explore the vision of how they foster their long-term health habits.

Reflection
Continuous enhancement: Perfection doesn't happen overnight 🌱
What I've learned is that reaching perfection takes time.
By embracing continuous enhancement and learning from failures, I’ve realized that users' needs are always changing. Every time we solve one problem, new ones pop up.
This journey has taught me the importance of continuous discovery and refinement. Through regular user testing and feedback from stakeholders, I made impactful enhancements to the app with each iteration.
